For the last few years thousands of cattle egrets have formed a massive colony on Bruce Dopslauf’s property along FM 155 near Mullins Prairie.
“I’ve got one or two out there,” Dopslauf said.

Such is the charge welcoming young actors to Camp Shakespeare. It will be sounded again on June 11th when 14 campers arrive in Fayette County to begin their journey. Their play will be one of Shakespeare’s early comedies, Love’s Labor’s Lost.

On Friday at a home on FM 2145, a five-person volunteer chainsaw team of Texas Baptist Men from La Grange and Katy led by Rick Stever and assisted by Butch Moore of the Second Baptist Church were breaking down and hauling off pieces of trees damaged in last week’s windstorm.
