On his second visit to Normandy, France, Fayette County native Rudolph A. (Rudy) Michalk wore a tailored navy blazer, starched white shirt and red tie. The date was June 6, 1984. He and his first wife, Margie, were attending the 40th anniversary of the Allies’ World War II D-Day landing.

La Grange folks have a new place to get their cars washed. This Thursday Dusty Littrell opens his car wash service, Dusty’s Hand Carwash, at 608 S. Jefferson Street, near Las Fuentes Restaurant. No appointments are necessary.

The latest iteration of the Schulenburg City Council got off to a bumpy start last Monday, May 15. During his first meeting presiding over the Council following his election, Mayor Otto Kocian cast a rare tie-breaking vote over an appointment for the mayor pro tem position.
