Fayette County 4-H members competed in the National Western Roundup Horse Judging Contest in Denver Colorado on January 6. Team members consisted of Emily Eindorf, Faith Hanacek, Kaycie Kelly and Bryn Stryk. They judged a total of nine classes including four halter classes.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday, January 11, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office interdiction unit, David Smith, stopped an Audi SUV on Interstate 10 at the 663 mile-marker at approximately 8:37 a.m. for a traffic violation.
La Grange’s street food scene keeps growing. Chef Don Crowe’s Roadside Gourmet trailer opened two weeks ago in Kevin McCourt’s food trailer park on Carroll Street near the Colorado River.

The La Grange General Services Committee decided to propose two options for the City’s new sign ordinance at a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The committee will meet again next Tuesday, Jan. 17, to finalize the details in those options. City Council will then pick one of the options.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that on Monday, Jan. 9 at approximately 11:53 a.m, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Lobos, stopped a Chevy Tahoe on Interstate 10 at the 658 milemarker for a traffic violation.

Adren Pilger, superintendent of Round Top-Carmine ISD since 2014, is retiring. His replacement is current RTC high school principal Brandon Schovajsa, who will continue as principal and superintendent until a new principal can be hired.
