Sengelmann Hall in Schulenburg held one of many New Year’s Eve parties in the area. The crowd there brought in the New Year by dancing to the music of the Pettit Brothers.
A Christmas Eve robbery spree along Interstate 10 came to an end on Saturday morning, Dec. 24, when officers from multiple agencies tracked down and arrested five suspects.

The Nativity scene on the Fayette County Courthouse attracted some national attention last week after the American Humanist Association sent a letter to County Judge Ed Janecka demanding that the county remove the scene.
