The low-THC cannabis facility conditionally approved to begin operations in the Schulenburg area will be located at Seville Farms west of Engle, according to an application filed with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Tragedy struck the Round Top-Carmine High School this week. Justin Hernandez, a sophomore at the school, died from a gunshot wound on Monday evening, May 15. A 22-year-old San Antonio man, Eduardo Hernandez, was charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting.

A wrecked Honda Odyssey sits in the median of State Highway 71 as La Grange and Ellinger volunteer firefighters extinguish a grass fire along the highway. The grass fire started around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, along SH 71 east of La Grange near Mueller Feed.
