Patrons of Cole’s Antiques in Warrenton got a scare Monday, Sept. 26, around noon as a shopper accidently discharged a firearm that was for sale inside the venue.
The Wine Haus in Flatonia held a grand opening celebration on Friday, Sept. 23. Over 50 friends and neighbors joined owner Lori Berger at the newly-rennovated historic building located at 110 W. North Main Street in Flatoina.

Construction is underway at the old La Grange Smokehouse property on TX-71. Houston-area businessman Joey Rinando purchased the property in February and hopes to re-open by the end of the year as Walhalla Valley Smokehouse and Market.

Schulenburg City Council accepted the resignation of Alderman Douglas Behlen at a meeting on Monday, Sept. 19. Behlen had served on the City Council since 2001. His seat comes up for election next year.
