I’ve experienced a lot of cold, miserable weather over the years. In December 1961, while stationed in Bangor, Maine, I was walking to work in blizzard conditions. The temperature was 35° below zero with a chill index of 80° below. Snow accumulation was about two feet with drifts much higher.
