The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services volunteer team from Williamson County arrived over the weekend in La Grange and will be serving lunch and dinner each day at the Knights of Columbus Community Center from their mobile kitchen and mobile catering truck.

Many World War II veterans were honored prior to the August meeting of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 5254 and the VFW Auxiliary. Each was given a citation from the Auxiliary and a light meal was served.

At the 35th Regular General Convention of the Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas-KJZT, over $62,000 in gifts were awarded. St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg was awarded $1,500 along with several other Catholic Schools in the state of Texas.
