October is the time for Halloween fun and La Grange Main Street is ready to celebrate. Gearing up for the big day, the La Grange Main Street and Visitors Bureau will be holding its annual Halloween Window Decorating Contest on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Each year, Fayette County Republican Women offer scholarships to one graduating senior girl in each of the five high schools in Fayette County. In 2017, those scholarships were $800 each.

St. Mark’s Medical Center Foundation was recently presented a beautiful quilt from the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild. It will be used as a live auction item for the upcoming Monte Carlo Nite hosted by St. Mark’s Foundation on October 14.

The Weyand family got a special DOIT4E license plate for their daughter Abbey when she got her fi rst car so that she could honor her friend, Emily Fritsch, the La Grange High School student who died suddenly two years ago. Monday was the two-tear anniversary of Emily’s passing.

Pamala Hammer of Johnson City and Marty Kay of Lockhart announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Taylor Kay to Todd Keilers, son of Armin and Regina Keilers of Fayetteville. The wedding will take place Oct. 7 in Johnson City.
