Friends and family of Dustin “Duck” Smith gathered at Fredrick Ernst Park in Industry on Sept. 27 to celebrate his birthday and remember his life. Smith died from a shooting at a Halloween Party at the La Grange VFW Hall in the early morning hours of Oct. 27, 2013.

The Walhalla TEEA Club met on Sept. 18 at the Homemakers building at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.
Club President Connie Sellers opened the meeting with the club prayer and pledges to the flags, members followed in unison.

LG Spirits donated $500 to two local fl ood victims, Jairet Braun (left) and Marcos Vega (right). Presenting the checks was LG Spirits owner Larry Glass. The money came from a fundraiser the store held on Saturday, Sept. 30, in which a portion of sales were designated for fl ood relief.
