Design on a new Business 71 bridge over the Colorado River in La Grange will begin later this year according to Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Cari Hensley, but the project is not scheduled to go out for bids until summer 2019.

The swirling, muddy flood waters of the Colorado River at the end of October and first few days of November submerged the landing and boat ramp just below the Business 71 bridge in La Grange for several days.
