I interviewed Kiki and Don Teague on the balcony of their new pub, Teague’s Tavern, overlooking the Round Top square last Sunday. The town and restaurant were packed with visitors, but by mid-afternoon things had slowed down to the point they could spare some time.

On Friday at a home on FM 2145, a five-person volunteer chainsaw team of Texas Baptist Men from La Grange and Katy led by Rick Stever and assisted by Butch Moore of the Second Baptist Church were breaking down and hauling off pieces of trees damaged in last week’s windstorm.

This week several Fayette County schools begin holding their graduation ceremonies. Information on those ceremonies and the honor grads from those schools is included below. The La Grange High School graduation will be the last of the county ceremonies, next week on Thursday, June 1 at 8 p.m.

On Monday, April 24 an angler on Lake Fayette noticed some unusual stuff on the surface of the water. He sent photos to Fayette County environmental activist Harvey Hayek.
“This was on (Lake) Fayette. This stuff glued itself to the boat. (It) took a power washer to get it off.”
