Nicholas Tooker, 37, was taken into custody Thursday in Round Top on a felony cattle theft warrant from South Dakota. The arrest came after an investigation by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Special Rangers. Special Ranger Mike Barr conducted the investigation.

Two guinea fowl escorted my car up the quarter-mile caliche road to the Jersey Barnyard on SH 159 Friday morning. The parking lot was full of cars and a school bus from Sweet Home ISD. A farm wagon full of schoolkids was just pulling out for a tour.
