The first Christmas Trail of Lights of the season starts Saturday, Dec. 3, at Monument Hill State Park in La Grange. The lighted trail winds through the brightly sparkling displays in the Park to the historic Kreische House built in 1855.
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek and the deputies of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office have announced the dates for this year’s Deputy Santa Program: Nov. 28 to Dec. 22. Toys will be handed out to participants at three different locations on Dec. 22.
Fayette County employees can now join the Lower Colorado River Authority Credit Union. Credit union representatives Ken Taylor and Betty Mueller made a presentation to Commissioners Court on Monday, Nov. 14.

While pumping gas on the new Murphy’s USA Gas Station in La Grange on Nov. 10 a local woman had a purse and wallet stolen from inside her car. The suspect, a black male, parked his Maroon Mazda car (shown above with dealer plates) right next to her car as she had her back turned pumping gas.

Schulenburg City Council unanimously rejected a resolution of support for a countywide hotel occupancy tax at a special meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The Schulenburg Council previously took no action on the resolution at meeting on Nov. 7.
