Former La Grange High School standout Missy Zoch wasted no time making an impact in the college softball world. Zoch, a freshman at De- Paul University, was named the Big East Conference Pitcher of the Week last week.

Flatonia’s Kaddin Mikulik pitched a perfect game Tuesday as the defending state champion Bulldogs downed Yorktown 10-0.
Mikulik, a San Jacinto College signee, struck out nine. He also drove in four runs.

Then there’s what happened Friday at Leopard Stadium. The La Grange boys broke open a close game against Smithville with three goals in the final nine minutes to turn a nail-biter into a 6-2 blowout.

The Schulenburg boys basketball team just missed making their second state tournament appearance in the last three seasons.
The Shorthorns lost to Santa Rosa 73-55 in the IV-3A regional final Saturday in Seguin as Schulenburg’s season ends with a 27-9 overall record.

The Schulenburg Shorthorns continue to march forward in the 3A boys basketball playoffs with Tuesday night’s 55-42 regional quarterfinal victory over Fox Tech in Seguin.
The Shorthorns are now one of the last 16 teams left in the state in their classification.
