Calvin O. Lange, 92, of La Grange, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017. Calvin was born in Oldenburg on Oct. 23, 1924, a son of the Katie (Onken) and Otto Lange. He married Dorothy (Weikel) Lange. Their marriage was held Jan. 1, 1947 in Warrenton.

Alan Wayne Juergens of Warrenton, beloved son, brother and friend, has been freed from the cares and pain of this earthly life. Alan was born June 29, 1959 in Rockdale to Ruby Rodiek Juergens Renck and the late Lonnie Juergens Sr.

Myron Bruening, 84, died Sept. 5, 2017. He was born on June 1, 1933 in Roznov to Robert Bruening and Aleitha Kaltwasser Bruening. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m.

Carolan Frances Mendel of Houston passed away, peacefully, with her family at her bedside on Sept. 2, 2017 at the beautiful age of 72. Carolan was born in Pryor, Okla. to loving parents Thomas and Dorothy Harrison. She grew up in Tulsa, Okla.

Wanda Marie (Splawn) Montez, “Nana,” 56, of West Point, joined the Heavens on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. Wanda was born in La Grange on May 22, 1961 to Plato and Jane (Garcia) Splawn, Sr. She attended school in La Grange and Van Horn. She graduated from La Grange High School in 1979.

Longtime Fayette County, Texas resident, Lawrence Ludwick Chovanec, 83, died Sept. 4, 2017, with his family by his side at the VA Hospice Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. Lawrence was born in Ellinger on Aug. 10, 1934, the son of Ed E. and Rosie L. (Janecka) Chovanec.

Travis “Tabby” Zingelmann, 66, of Waldeck, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. Tabby was born in Houston on Sept. 3, 1951, the son of Albert “F.E.” Zingelmann and Mamie June (Gresham) Zingelmann. Tabby was self-employed doing fencing and carpentry work.

Delores Lila (Quade) Oppermann, 74, of La Grange, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017. Delores was born in Round Top on March 11, 1943 the daughter of Robert and Elfa (Mendrovsky) Quade. She married Fred H. Oppermann on Feb. 17, 1962 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top.

Linda Darlene Schwartz, 68, died last Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Christopher House in Austin surrounded by family. She was born in Dallas on July 13, 1949 to Henry and Ruby Zoch. She married William Innes Schwartz Sr. on Nov. 30, 1969 and had three children.
