Lydia Noak Orbeck Hoel, 95, of Clifton, died peacefully Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Clifton. A funeral service was held March 27 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap, and burial was at the Rock Church Cemetery. Lydia was born Oct. 20, 1921, to Willie and Irene Noak in Round Top.

Yvette Hornak, 59, of Houston, died Sunday, June 18, 2017. Yvette was born in Bellville on May 20, 1958, the daughter of Laddie and Beatrice (Zbranek) Hornak.

Eleanora Julia (Belota) Rainosek was born in Plum on Feb. 16, 1925 to parents Joe and Frances (Sulik) Belota. She died in Houston on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the age of 92, with her children by her side.

Gloria Lucille Kautz Krause, 92, of New Ulm, died Saturday June 3, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 17, 1924 near Willow Springs on her family’s farm. Gloria was the fourth of six children of Albert and Lydia (Muenzler) Lindemann.

Gracie Willliams, 87, of Round Top, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin. Gracie was born April 20, 1930 in Haynesville, La. to Charlie and Oddie (Mills) Sumlin. She worked as a registered nurse and was a member of Weimar Congregation of Jehovah Witness in Weimar.

No one in the Schulenburg Sticker’s 123-year history served as owner and publisher longer than Joseph Frank Vyvjala. He died on Thursday, June 1 at the age of 88, still with the title of publisher emeritus. Joe began his career in the newspaper business in 1942, while in high school.

Roger Dale Hoffmann, 63, of La Grange, died June 5, 2017 in La Grange. He was born on March 19, 1954 in La Grange, grew up in Weimar, and graduated from Weimar High School. Roger was a retired welder.
