Esther “Jewel” Shimek, 81, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, May 27, 2017. Jewel was born in Saint Stevens, Ala. on Oct. 6, 1935, the daughter of George W. Sullivan and Ida (Poole) Sullivan. She married Larry Shimek on Aug. 14, 1971 in Hugo, Okla.

Patsy Ruth (Kubena) Pflughaupt, 91, of Fayetteville, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Patsy was born in Fayetteville on Oct. 26, 1925, the daughter of Rudolph R. and Minnie Mae (Spacek) Kubena. She married Glenn Pflughaupt on May 21, 1944 in Fayetteville.

Sharon Anne Price, 61, former Fayette County resident, died April 9, 2017 at her current home in Bastrop. Sharon was born Aug, 22, 1955 to Paul and Frances Redding of Houston. She was a devoted Catholic and member of Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop in her last season of life.

Albina (Granny) Urban died on May 21, 2017 in Columbus surrounded by her loved ones. Albina Verlene Urban was born to William and Frances Lycka near Ellinger on Oct. 13, 1923. She and her twin sister, Mary, joined two brothers, Robert and Louis.
